The name of this blog, A Dream Conferred (ADC), was inspired by a poem entitled “Harlem” written by Langston Hughes. It questions what happens to dreams that die:
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore—
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over—
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
Although this is a beautifully written poem, I don’t want to dwell on dreams deferred. I want to explore dreams conferred– dreams granted to us by universal powers. I need to know how we can manifest our dreams!
Since I have become more in tune with universal laws and the divine, I have seen certain wonderful things manifest in my life. I have become more aware of divine timing and I am able to learn why things have to happen a certain way more quickly than I was able to before.
Seeing the wonderful things manifest from the decent amount of work that I have done to improve my life, I think to myself, I can only imagine what could happen if I dedicated more time and energy to this stuff.
This blog is part health and wellness, part how-to guide, and part emotional outlet. I will also highlight inspiring women from diverse backgrounds.
This blog is about learning how to release resentment, anger, and regret as much as it is about manifesting our dreams as these negative feelings can act as blocks preventing us from living our best lives.
This is a blog for those who are willing to take the plunge. Maybe life isn’t working out for you currently or you have a decent life but you’re looking to propel yourself forward. This blog is for those who are willing to believe.
Join me, if you are willing.
